Favorite Places Locally

I’m always asking the locals where to eat.  It starts out with folks talking about how much they like to go out.  When I ask where they recommend, they stammer and stutter.  I have found really good Chinese food at Mapo.  And I like breakfast at the Morningside Cafe in Lisle.  Stacey and I tried the Bavarian Inn on Odgen and were pleasantly surprised.  Simple, cheap.  But where else?  And where’s the really good pizza?

The really good pizza is at Lou Malnoti’s. Closest for you would be downtown Naperville. You want the sausage, not the pepperoni, for the authentic experience.

    Chef Sneed,

I recently ate at Sugartoad and the food was amazing, thanks for bringing such a great place to Naperville. Since I am a local (ok I left to travel and I’m back so that counts.) I’d like to recommend the coffee at BlueMax coffee in Forest Park, IL. While there food leaves a lot to be desired, the owner and master roaster does great things with his coffee (Try the Guatemala Huehuetenango.) Another local favorite is The Marion Street Cheese Market in Oak park. Neither locations are as good as sugartoad, but still recommended. Jeans are totally in order as well. Thanks again for the wonderful restaurant and Blog.

You have to try Bien Trucha, a tiny Mexican “tapas” restaurant in Geneva, IL. Amazing!
